My breakfast! Slow cooker steel cut oats and apples omg delish! My body already started its burn but most important I woke up at 6am refreshed and ready to start the day. Crazy!! That never happens. If this is a side effect bring it! :) lots of baseball stuff today must remember to eat lunch in there:) toodles!
Well let me sum up 2011 - PHEW lol it went fast I guess, I didnt even have time to blog about it! Actually I did blog a little bit but on my vegan morphing blog. I haven't completely gone vegan, I miss fish, eggs and dairy too too much. I am planning to go all vegetarian. ONE day lol I have a new project, I am making a cook book of my favorite recipes for my children. I have been cooking each recipe so that I can measure the ingredients AND take capture a picture of the food. I think I am getting good at taking the pictures! I dunno YOU tell me! lol I think its gonna take me all year good thing I started in Feb huh? Trouble is growing up. WHYY?! I was thinking yesterday omg what am I gonna do in 10 years when they all move out?! I am thinking I'm gonna end up traveling to each of their homes one week here, one week there lol who the heck will I cook for?!? omg anxiety! lol ta ta for now!
Yep yep yep its that time of year again!!! RIDING SEASON!!! I can almost taste the dirt in my food already! How excited is MY family?? Omg trouble asks me every single morning "its it camping day today?" poor thing. Well let me back up a little bit and then bring you up to date.
Halloween was crazy fun! Seriously, we got to share it with some awesome people of our community @ our community center. There was everything, games to play, hot chocolate, pepper bellies, a haunted house, and even a costume contest! At the end of the night all the parents gathered in a big circle and the kids went one by one to each parent and said trick or treat, and then us parents tri, hehe nooo we gave them pieces of candy! Trouble shocked us by wanted to go into the haunted house. That is SO unlike him. He had a great time tho! I am so proud of him for doing something new :) Thing 3, well he had a blast too. He helped set up the haunted house and he helped try n scare all the kiddies lol It was great to see my boys having so much fun!
Now onto November...yes what a busy busy busy month this shall be. I am already planning troubles birthday party because we already know we wont have much time next month. He wants me to make him a race car cake, doh lol as always. We are having it at build a bear because I just know next year he will want crazy boy stuff so I gotta get the cute stuff while I can! He invited all of his friends from his class and a few others from the other kindergarten class. I LOVE this school! they only have 15 kids in each class! He wasn't sure about having girls lol I had to tell him it was ok. Silly boys. He will be 5....wow.
Next I am planning our first riding/camping trip of the season. We are going from the 20th-28th. Tony and thing 3 spent the last few weeks changing oil on all the toys and cleaning them up charging batteries and making sure the 5th wheel was good to go. Did I mention that was the best $ we have ever spent in our lives?? :) Camping has really brought all of us so much closer. I cant wait until Thing 1 can go with us, hopefully in March. Well for our camping trip we will be doing a very large Thanksgiving buffet with the other families joining us. So here is how I do my end. I spend this week (the week before) cooking the turkey and sides. I pack them in foil containers. Then pile them up in our cooler after I freeze them. Then I thaw and either put them on the grill or in our oven or even on the fire. This way we all get some good yummies! The whole week is filled with friends, family, games all sorts of stuff. Sometimes they even have poker runs but I believe this year it wont be until our xmas vacation :)
I think all families should buy RV's. They really do bring you closer. Its so much cheaper to take vacations with the RV (if you dont count the cost of the RV lol) Money well spent I say. Our toy hauler is 5 years old and still looks brand new.
Oh oh oh. Tony and I have decided to leave trouble in his private school until 8th grade. Ill talk more about what changed our minds in my next blog. For now I must finish my stuffing and start laundry!

So its that time again. Time for trouble to pick out a costume for Halloween. Only one minor thing, he wants to be a puppy AGAIN. Now I know what you are thinking, let that poor kid dress the way he wants and stop it. I cant! I have tried and just a FYI my hubby wants him to explore other costumes as well! I started in August, What do you want to be for Halloween hunny? A black n white puppy mom. I said whoa I KNOW! how about being a veterinarian, you know the dr who fixes puppies boo-boos??? He said Oh yeah that sounds fun mom. September comes....ok sweetie lets order that costume. Wait mom, I want the puppy costume! Are you sure you wanna be a puppy again? first you were Blue from Blues Clues, then the next year you were a dalmatian, how about this year you be something different? No I want to be a puppy again. Ok well we can order this next week. After that hubby and I kept asking him about being a nascar driver then finally it happened! Last night he decided to be a nascar driver! So we got on the computer super fast and went directly to the nascar site to order a costume! We got car 88 The National Guard car. This was after alot of fussing over which had the right size n all. However we got it! yay us! When my older kids were little I didnt have enough money to always buy costumes so most of the time it was a ghost or make up. Time is different now, the costumes are A LOT cheaper and more readily available and affordable. I am hoping for a great Halloween this year :) Ill let you know how it goes ;p~~

I bet you are wondering what the heck has happened to trouble and his mommy! I have been super super busy! Let me fill you in and then hopefully I will remember to blog from now on!
trouble is still 4 and although the public school cut off date is 12/1/2010 (age 5 before) we have decided that it would benefit trouble if he attended kindergarten this year rather than wait one more year. ok ok before you go nuts I know EVERYTHING you are thinking but you have to remember that trouble spent his days home with me and I was teaching how to read and write already. We did however have him assessed by the school BEFORE signing him up and yes they agreed. trouble can read and write and each week he has a spelling test. I know I bet you are thinking, but Melissa was he EMOTIONALLY ready for Kindergarten?! The answer is why yes he actually is. That was the reason for putting him into the preschool to be sure that he was socially and emotionally ready. His teachers do nothing but dote over him! I have gotten so many compliments about lil trouble. I am very proud yep I am!
I do remember that in the past I had blogged about public school vs private school...all I have to say is its going to be a real adjustment for me when he attends 1st grade in a public school. I really like this school he currently attends. 13-15 kids in his class CRAZY huh??? The first day he had a pencil box filled with crayons, pencils, and all sorts of goodies. (and I DIDN'T buy them!) He really enjoys his friends too. I love hearing him talk about all of them. He could go on for days sometimes! I don't know if you remember the age of 4 but I meant that literally! lol
Well riding season is approaching and you know our family is super excited! I myself cant wait to get away, especially during thanksgiving. Well I will leave you with this for now but I will try to get another blog in before Halloween if not then Ill be blogging about Halloween lol

Today was pretty wonderful. The school trouble attends had a "Mothers day tea party" to celebrate the upcoming mothers day. Wow :) Again I wanna give kudos to private schools here! So it started with the kids singing two songs....then reciting the alphabet then counting to 100 :) Moms got to see everything the kids are learning or have learned. Then they did 3 different stations, cup cake making, bracelet making or you could play with some play doh. Well of course trouble wanted to make a cup cake! then with some sprinkles on top we were done! woot. Then he gave me a paper bag where he had made the most beautiful flower with his picture in the center. Oh why why does he have to grow up! I miss these days with my older kids. I barely get kisses n hugs from the other kids. All in all it was a super party and Im so glad they did it :)

As you all know I am on facebook daily. I keep in touch with many friends and family, keep updated on the news and get special sale notices for places I like to shop at. Anyhoo, yesterday I saw a post that stopped me DEAD in my tracks. "Make It Illegal to Protest at Military Funerals". REALLY?? I mean REALLY? Do we need to make this illegal? Doesn't anyone have enough sense NOT to do this?? What pissed me off the most was a friend of mine defending the protesters! It really bothered me all day that anyone would stand at someones grave and protest anything! His argument was: A soldier fights and dies for our freedoms, and you want to honor him or her by denying citizens the First Amendment right of free speech and assembly? How nonsensical! Our soldiers are making great sacrifices so we can keep our freedoms, and your reaction is to take away those freedoms? What a horrible idea!
Don't get me wrong, I am just fine with people protesting but bringing anything to a funeral I believe is just wrong! Very very disrespectful. I am glad I ran into this because I am now going to help push them to not allow this. As far as my friend? I'm not sure I should keep him on my facebook he is just a waste at this point:/
